Things not really going according to plan...We were getting quite excited about Dove and Red running this weekend as they had been going so well. We had arranged for Will Telfor to school them this morning. he got on Dove and she wouldn't go a yard. She just stood there with an obstinate look on her face, he had to jump off and lead her to the fence and then jump on, at which point she went but didn't jump very well and then planted again when he wanted her to go around the second time. She did eventually and jumped better but it is rather depressing because we thought with all the hunting and nice outings we had sweetened her up enough for her not to think about planting again. Her younger sister, Red showed her how it should be done and jumped brilliantly. however now the ground has dried up so much it will probably be too firm for her as they can't water the track at the Oakley. We will just have to hope for some rain overnight.
Dream fell over yesterday in the yard - she pulled back on her rope while I was cleaning the stables and galloped off but in true Dream style, fell over. She has got a scraped fetlock which has blown up and will probably take a while to go down.
Doug took Dove out for a hack this evening to try and get rid of some of her nervous energy as she is behaving as though she is 'over the top'. He took her to the gallops where she would normally play up but she was as good as gold. There is just no rhyme nor reason for her erratic behaviour. Very frustrating.
