End of the summer.... This garden was a hay field exactly a year ago today.
Another gorgeous day - hunting was very rewarding with all the horses going really well and enjoying themselves, Frog had a few worrying moments but they were short and sharp. She has started to settle and will be very useful when she does as we are going to treat her like a hunter and then when her brain is right she will race. Dove loved it today and was very happy in herself and Harry was his normal sweet self. He is probably not the brightest light on the Christmas tree but he doesn't put a hoof wrong so I'm so pleased I bought him. I will hunt him until the end of the season and if his jumping is good then he will race.
The weather has been so beautiful lately so now we are ready to accept Autumn which is apparently just around the corner. The week-end is set to be wet and windy. We need some rain as the ground has become really hard.
The youngsters are still desperate to come in at night and love being 'institutionalised' but we will probably just do one more week with the yearlings and then turn them out as they are too young to race/hunt them, we may keep the 2 year old's in and see how they go.
