The Pytchley hounds

Hunting with the Pytchley
The most beautiful day. Doug on Harry, Amy on Dove and myself on Dream. The weather was incredibly warm for this time of year and we went across some stunning countryside. All the horses behaved themselves and Doug was over the moon with Harry who was wearing his fish net stockings on his nose and didn't pull at all - He jumped really well and made a very nice change from Frog. Dove and Dream were lovely although after a few hours Dream got cranky and started to bare her teeth and lay her ears against her head at horses she didn't know. We also seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time as twice we were about to jump a fence when the person in front had a fall, so we had to stop and make sure they were OK, thereby getting left behind. Lucy was supposed to be coming out too but Red has got an infected foot so she had to spend the day in the stable with a poultice. It was Amy's only chance of going hunting this season as she is leaving us at the end of the week to work the ski season in Val D'Isre. She has done a brilliant job with Dove who seems to be so happy and relaxed now. I really think the key to her enjoying racing is to hunt her as often as possible - she absolutely loves her hunting and has never looked so well. Must sign off as we going to some freinds for supper this evening and still lots to do...
