Spider had a huge poo just before the vet arrived and was much better, although her stomach was not quite right and she needed an injection. . We went to Cheltenham and although we missed the first couple of races we still had a great day with some top class racing.
On Saturday it was Rowan Cope's 30th birthday party, so we just did the horses during the day and some office work, rather than going to Cheltenham again. Brilliant party - I have a lasting memory of Rowan on the dance floor spinning Lou Bates (an older and somewhat formidable hunting lady) like a windmill on his shoulders. Minutes before I had seen him falling over on the very slippery floor, so we were all watching with bated breath for the inevitable crash but somehow he managed to stay on his feet. When we saw him the next day at the 'ten to follow' lunch he couldn't remember anything about it!
I was worried about Frog last week because she had a high heart rate and was a bit 'flat' I needn't have worried - she is definitely OK now. - I have a black eye to prove it! She was very fresh this morning and reared up, her head clashed with mine and cracked my cheek bone. She then dumped me. Luckily it was at the bottom of the gallops, a nice soft landing. If she ever wins a race we will have the biggest party ever. She has been a real challenge....
Ben and Lucy were in this morning so we were able to give them a proper work out. All horses worked really well except Dove who was taken out on her own for a hack and Lucy had to walk about three miles home because she planted and refused to go a yard with anyone on her back. She is going hunting tomorrow morning with Harry, Dream and Jake, hopefully, that will freshen her up and be a work out for her. She is another challenge, especially when she is slightly 'over the top' fitness wise. She needs a race, sooner rather than later.
