My herbaceous border - I do love my lupins!

I'm rather sad at the moment because Gloria, my favourite hen has died. She was called Gloria after Gloria Gaynors song 'I will survive' as she has been through 2 massacres where all the other hens were taken by a fox apart from her. She was always very vocal and used to supervise me while I cleaned the horses out and always helped with putting the beds down. She was an ex battery hen so at least she had a much better life than most. I don't know why she died as she was fine yesterday - I hope the other four hens will be OK.

The horses are now all on holiday as there is rain forecast for tomorrow and Red also likes it top of the ground. They have been in training for a long time now so they deserve a mini break until we decide which ones to run under rules and which to save for the point to point season.
