The Irish gypsies came again last night - luckily Doug caught them red handed just as they were breaking into his truck, which was behind the new gates and all padlocked in, we can only assume they were looking for the keys to the container which has the new quad bikes in. they jumped back over the gates and ran away - Doug ran across the fields after them. When they got to the road a transit van picked them up and whisked them away. It was only about 9pm - it is unbelievable how cocky they are (probably because it was so easy for them last time when we were away at The Royal Welsh) and very obvious that the only thing they want is the quads as they could have taken other things in the shed if they had wanted. The police were brilliant and were out straight away and said that the one thing the gypsies hate is being chased - they were quite sure they wouldn't come back. The forensics came out today and took finger prints and were quite confident that they had retrieved some DNA samples. Mr Allen, our landlord, popped around and said that he would pay for extra security lights around the back and anything else we want to help the situation. Nasty people! The economic situation in Ireland is particularly bad at the moment and has probably led to an increase of Irish gypsies over here chancing their luck.
