All horses are working really well. We swapped around from yesterday, and the group that cantered had a really good trot around the set aside. Laverty (stable name Louie) isn't quite ready for cantering yet as I would like to see a bit more muscle on him, so we will do a couple more days of trotting first. Harry (Unoitmakessense) and Frog (Quand Je Reve de Toi) went up the uphill gallop with me on Harry and Lucy on Frog. They went so well that I have decided to enter Frog for Warwick on the 4th November. She will go in a mares only bumper - We had the heart monitor on her when Charlie rode her on Monday and she is not quite 100% fit but as she is the sort of horse that can easily go over the top when she is fit, it won't be a bad thing, as long as the ground is no worse than good to soft. Harry needs soft ground so that the jumps don't come too quickly for his first race, so we will wait until the ground is much softer for him.
Yesterday I drove to Cirencester to meet up with a PR girl called Caroline Smail - she was recommended by a hunting friend called Rupert and she was really switched on and very excited about helping to promote Velvet Energy - she came up with some fantastic ideas and as she used to work for The Daily Mail and the Horse and Hound, she has got some brilliant contacts. I am fully aware that I have been a little slack on the promotional side of things, so it is great to have a like minded and enthusiastic person on board.
