The horses all worked very hard during the week and so have had an easy week-end, just walking out and then relaxing in the field. Apart from Jake and Skye, who yesterday we took to Gawcott cross country course to get them jumping before the hunting season begins. They both went really well and we were delighted with them.
In true form, as soon as I entered Frog for Warwick (on the 3rd, not the 4th as I previously said) she woke up the following morning with a snotty nose - she is still very bright and is eating up well but I don't want to risk running her if she is not 100% right. It's sods law, but I would rather it happened now than in the middle of the season when you can't really afford to give them much time off.
The autumn colours are absolutely beautiful at the moment, so today we went for a really long walk around Otmoor nature reserve to enjoy the colours. We then stopped at the pub in Islip for a delicious Sunday roast. Then back in time to watch racing at Huntingdon on TV in front of the fire. The perfect Sunday....
