After a lot of hard work by Hamish, Ben, Doug and Alex the gallops were perfect this morning, if a little fast, and all the horses went out and had a good work out. It was absolutely freezing though for the people sitting on them and we were very pleased to retire to the pub for our 'office party' with a glass (or two) of mulled wine.
We have just heard that Bangor has been abandoned which although expected is somewhat disappointing as there isn't really a suitable race now for Harry until December 27th at Wetherby. Hopefully they will reschedule. Frog has been entered in an all weather National Hunt flat race at Southwell on Monday.She needs a run as she is getting rather full of herself again and is difficult to get to and from the gallops.
It is -7 outside at the moment and we have just had some guests turn up to stay in the shepherd hut. I had phoned them earlier as the shower is completely frozen and rather hoped they would decide not to come, but undeterred they have just turned up. Completely bonkers if you ask me!
