Happy Chooks and the lovely old Oak tree

You will all be very pleased (particularly Dave who is far more concerned about the chooks than his horse!) to hear that the new chooks are settling in very well - Sadly the two hens that refused to go back into the hen house in the evenings and preferred to sleep in the barn have disappeared, presumably taken by the fox, but the well behaved ones are thriving and loving their new life. The oak tree is still in full leaf which is rather unusual for this time of year - a couple of frosts and a windy day will soon change that so we are making the most of the beautiful colours at the moment.

It's a great day's racing today with all the big guns out - Kauto Star, Time for Rupert, Diamond Harry, Long Run and Wierd Al at Haydock and Master Minded is up against Medermit and Somersby at Ascot - Very exciting - must get some gardening done before settling in for the afternoon...
