It is quite unbelievable the going has gone from soft to good to firm in one week - quite extraordinary. We have got three horses entered for the Blankney point to point at North Carlton - Sadly Definite Dawn wont be going as he has a bruised foot - We have been tubbing it all week and thought we had got on top of it but he was lame again this morning so we got the vet out, who X-rayed it and found a big bruise just below the heel, we had started to think it was more serious so we were very relieved that that was all it was.It is a shame he is going to miss what would almost definitely be a certain win as there are only three entered for the race and he had already beaten the other two when he was 10 lbs worse off - it would have been of level weights this time, but at least he will be there to fight another day.
Jess is entered for the restricted and Ponty for the two and a half mile maiden, although we wont run him if it is too firm. The forecast isn't great, with snow forecast for tonight, so we will just have to wait and see.
We have just watched the England v France match - France played an awful lot better than they have been playing and at one stage it was really quite close, but England ramped things up in the last twenty minutes and won convincingly. England have got a new maturity about them and were really quite impressive. It would be fantastic to go on the Lions Tour this June to Australia. We went in 2001 which was an amazing experience but it has got ridiculously expensive now - I guess if Jake won the fox hunters we might be able to afford to go....!!  Keep dreaming Pauline....
