A great fun day. Out of six horses three of them were in the winners enclosure with Scruffy coming second, Rock third and Jake also third. Jake looked as though he was going to be completely tailed off and I was just in the process of telling someone that we were going to retire him as he clearly didn't want to do it any more, when he got to the top of the hill and then flew to very nearly catch the first two on the line. Pete was furious with him as he finished like a train and wasn't at all tired but we thought it was rather amusing as that is just him and we love him for it!  Scruffy ran a great race but didn't quite know what to do when she got to the front and got taken on the line and Rock was in a very hot maiden and ran a great race. Some lovely winners though - Stuart Morris who trains a mare belonging to the Knight family who very much deserved a win and in the members it was wonderful to see Phoebe Taylor winning on her first ride - The crowd went mad and it was as though she had won the gold cup. Absolutely fantastic.

Party time by the lorry

Juliet giving Lucy her picture on behalf of the owners

Last to leave....

It was Lucy's last day as very sadly she is moving to Cornwall so we had a presentation for her around the lorry and then the party just went on and on, ending up in the shepherd hut........ She has been absolutely brilliant and will be very much missed.
