Having had the most fabulous week at Cheltenham it was down to earth with a bump. We took four horse to Garthorpe with high hopes - We had been told the ground would be good but it was anything but - Sadly it hadn't dried out as expected and it was literally like glue. Scruffy and Elvis both ran well until they ground to a halt and we didn't run Murphy (Glory Hunter) or Popaway as by that time we knew they would hate it. There is plenty more racing to come. This has been an exceptionally wet season and it is the first time we haven't got a single horse who likes soft ground. We are taking Tik (Velvet Steel) Dancer and Noddy (Cupachai) tomorrow but having just walked the course this evening it will just be an educational run for the two maidens (Tik and Noddy) as it also on the soft side. It is nice safe ground though and will be a good start for them. Just off to watch the France v England match....
