It is lovely to see horse's heads over the stable doors again. At present they are just coming in from the field to go on the walker and then back out as the weather is still so lovely. It is still too warm for rugs but I guess that won't be long now before the weather changes, although today it was a balmy 29 degrees centigrade and I have just had my refreshing swim in the river. We have eighteen horses here now although one of which is the retired Dr K, one is Dancer and one is Sea Rock, both of which are on the transfer list. All are shod and in another weeks time will be ridden.
The horses we have in now and their stable names are Premier Gold (Lily), Brave Bella (Bella), Sea Rock (Rock) Velvet Steel (Tic) Don't Budge Me (Budge), Glory Hunter (Murphy), Exclusive Rights (Scruffy) Lady Barfad (Goody) King of Angels (Elvis), King of Rainbows (Memphis), Velvet Cloud (Cloud), Cupachai (Noddy), View the Dance (Dancer) We Never Give Up (Jess), Alistair (Al), Popaway (Pops) and Pasta (unnamed) The new ones are King of Rainbows, a very nice 4 yr old by Rainbow Quest who is owned by Peter Bennett and is about to go to Jamie Goss to be broken in before coming back here, Alistair a very lightly raced 8 yr old who was in training with Paul Nichols, his owner died and his son very kindly let us have him and Pasta a big rangy unnamed four year old filly, daughter of our great little race mare Velvet Dove. It is wonderful to have them all back and now I can't wait to crack on with the new season!
