We left at 7am this morning. Yesterday Burrows Spring had a slightly puffy fetlock which although it went down overnight we were still slightly concerned so we arranged to have her leg scanned on the way to the races. We stopped at Walnut Hill and both Tim and Jack scanned her thoroughly and could find nothing wrong. Thank goodness for that as she has been going so well and it would have desperate if she was out for the season. The owners of Bea (Burrows Spring) also have two runners. at Haydock today one of which is Hainan, the favourite for the Peter Marsh memorial chase, so understandably they won't be watching Bea, but we wish them all the best and fingers crossed all their horses come home safely.
We are now back on our way and have the three horses on board although it is highly unlikely that Jess will run as it is pouring with rain.
We were back late last night as we went to Gloucester to pick up a new horse. She is called Beech Hill and has come over from Ireland for our owner rider, Hannah. Hannah has already ridden her once in a point to point in Ireland and came fourth so she is perfect for her. Beech seems a real poppet and a lovely new addition to the yard.
