On Wednesday evening we were invited by Billy Aprahamian to the Tower of London for the ceremony of the 'Passing of the Keys'  It is a ceremony that has been going on for over 700 years and is essentially the locking of the Tower of London. The Chief Yeoman Warden is escorted around the tower locking all the doors until he is 'challenged' by the sentry - On this occasion the Irish Guards were on duty. Billy is Lieutenant and did all the shouting. It begins at exactly 09.52 and then finishes at exactly 10 pm with "God preserve the Queen" and everyone present answers "Amen" It was pretty impressive and the history of the place is awe inspiring and incredible to think that exactly that ceremony with the exact wording has continued uninterrupted for 700 years!
