The pig styes have now been painted and they are all ready to have the doors and panels put in. I have finished planting out all five hundred bulbs in the woods and look forward to seeing the fruits of my labour!
This afternoon we were invited to look around Bill Adam's cattle at Lower Boddington. Having both been heavily involved in cattle in the past it was great to have a 'tour' around. The cows were Simmental cross - they were a really good example of a breeding cow, not being too big but with plenty of milk. The calves were sired by an Angus and looked a good sort. All his fat cattle go to Waitrose and the price has increased considerably this season which is well deserved. he was in the middle of lambing and it took me back to all those nights spent in the lambing shed. I don't miss the lambing but wouldn't mind seeing a few cattle around here at Blackgrounds.
