Would you believe that we ended up not running Harry (Unoitmakessense) because the ground was....TOO Fast??!! Yesterday we walked the track and it was perfect good to soft ground. We got there today and Doug could barely get his stick in along the home straight. We couldn't believe how much it had changed as there had been a drying wind all night and they had slit the ground which also helped to dry the track out. It would have been perfect ground for Dove or Red, but not for Harry, especially with Ed riding him for the first time. As it happened it was a very hot race with 14 runners and a fast time, so we made the right decision as now he can run at the Pytchley (our home track) next week and Ed will have more time to get to know him as he is coming to school him again on Wednesday.
