Ashorne was too soft for Dove, but good safe jumping ground so we ran her anyway. She clearly didn't like the ground and didn't jump with her normal fluency but came 5th, just beaten a short head for 4th. Peter looked after her and she hardly blew afterwards and was as happy as anything, I keep waiting for her to turn into the moody mare she was last season but so far so good. There was a great picnic atmosphere after the races and a massive crowd. it's a really fun meeting.
On Tuesday evening the people from the estate decided to celebrate Harry's win in the local pub - we took the cup and put a few bottles of champagne it it. Mr Allen (the owner of the estate) turned up to share in the celebrations. Peter, the jockey, also came. it was a seriously good night.... I don't think my liver can cope with any more wins!
Yesterday we went to the last Cheltenham meeting. It was the hunter chase evening devoted to amateurs - really good racing and lots of like minded people - another very good evening. I need another holiday!
