The shepherd hut is still making progress - the table is the original one, stripped down and waxed, there is going to be a bench on either side, and a table that can be pinned up or lowered so that the benches can then be made into a bed. We are waiting for the roof, which is being made to order and should be with us next week - nearly there.... Doug has enjoyed the renovating so much that he is now on the look out for another one to do up.
It was Joseph's birthday on the 4th August but because he has been so busy harvesting we weren't able to take him and Sophie out until last night - he is now 27 years old - eeeek!! I just cannot believe how quickly time flies by. We had a lovely evening at the Red Lion at East Haddon, although Doug didn't fully approve of the 'nouveau cuisine' and was tempted to stop for a Mc Donalds on the way home.
There is a music festival happening in the next village but one to us (Cropredy) with apparently 40,000 people staying on campus - last night Status Quo were playing and when we sat in the garden we could hear them really well - they sounded amazing and have obviously got even better with age.
I have had a big day in the office today and am off to walk the dogs - it's raining at the moment, which I love at this time of the year as it brings out the smell of summer.
The apple trees are loaded with fruit and Matilda and Prudence are now roaming free - however, they don't like the rain and it is a quick dash to the orchard in between showers - very comical.
