We have a new addition to our yard with a horse called Laverty, he was supposed to be coming a month ago but there was a problem with one of the owners who was reluctant to sell his quarter share for a reasonable price - anyway, to cut a long story short the horse probably hasn't quite been getting the attention he deserves in the last month and looks somewhat poor. He seems genuine enough and loves his food so it shouldn't take too long to get him to muscle up, he also has a big bump on his back from an ill-fitting saddle so will have to be managed carefully.
We went to the South Midlands point to point dance last night at Heythrop Park and then at Towcester races today - great racing.
We have just had a surprise visit from Jay who got the train from University in Kent to Oxford and then cycled here (40 miles!) We weren't expecting her - apparently it's her 'reading' week (?!). A very nice surprise, so now I had better cook some supper for her as I'm sure she will be starving..
