Happy chooks

Before and after
Just look at my ex battery chooks now - they are so happy and still can't believe their luck.
It is astonishing how quickly they have learnt to be normal chooks having spent their entire lives couped up in a cage but they are definitely making up for it by scratching for England and running everywhere at high speed as if they are test driving their newly found legs.
All good on the horse front - Lucy and Will were in but Will had to go and school a horse for Simon Gilmore so I did third lot with Lucy. They all went up the gallops except Red and Leon who trotted around the fields. Leon felt a little better but still doesn't really feel like a racehorse yet. Perhaps he is the sort who saves himself for a race. I will be hunting him on Saturday and hope that might get him going. Frog went better than ever - shame she didn't put the same effort into her race.
We had a good week-end. On Saturday we went to a 21st birthday party. It was Will's girlfriends, Lara's and was a great night. It got to 3am and Doug had to drag me home. Middle aged farts behaving badly....
Went shopping at Morrisons this evening - they are doing this special offer that if you spend over £40 a week for the five weeks leading up to Christmas you get £30 of free shopping in Christmas week. Not to be sniffed at but Doug thinks its hysterical because he says I'm not organised enough to keep the receipts or remember what dates I last went in. I'm in my second week now and have filed my receipts away in the little folder provided by Morrisons - I am determined to prove him wrong - even though I know he's right and I'm sure I will fall at the last hurdle having spent much more than I normally would have done!
I'm not sure about these dark nights. There just doesn't seem to be enough time to fit everything in -off to walk the dogs now.
