Our new arrival - The Irish RM
Emma's new horse has arrived from Ireland, and he's a cracker! He arrived on Monday evening and I rode him yesterday around the farm, he's a lovely horse to sit on and very honest. This morning Emma came to see him and luckily(!)loved him - it was a bit of a risk as he was bought unseen but we have a very good contact in Ireland who knows what sort of horse we are looking for and can be trusted. He won his last point to point three weeks ago and has ran consistently and genuinely. He's only six and there is plenty of room for improvement. Emma deserves some luck as her other horse, Haunted House, who broke down after winning a steeple chase at Uttoxeter two years ago, and who she has had in rehab since, won't race this season as when worked he gets a bit of heat in his off fore - given more time and some luck he will race next season - he is a really classy horse and is worth the effort. In the meantime, we are very hopeful that Paddy (The Irish RM) will give her a lot of fun.
We didn't go to Cheltenham today but went on Tuesday and Wednesday and had the most wonderful time - brilliant racing and an absolute privilage to see such magnificient equine athletes. We are hoping to go tomorrow for the Gold Cup - it will be an early start to try and get everything done in time but it will be worth it.
