This race has to go down as one of the best Gold Cup races in history - Old warriors, Denman and Kuato Star with the young pretender, Long Run all jumped the last fence together - with the young legs of Long Run just getting the better of Denman who came 2nd and Kuato Star who was a brave third. The crowd went mad and it was quite emotional to see the courage of the two older horses and how they gave their all. Sam Whaley-Cohen the winning jockey on his fathers Long Run, is an amateur rider and a great supporter of point-to pointing so it was good for the sport to see him beat the professionals.
It was a superb Cheltenham - one of the best.
Back to reality - we walked the Whitfield course today to see how the ground was as it has been very dry lately - to our surprise the ground was much better than expected and we will be running Doctor Kingsley and Oaka all being well.
