We didn't get much rain and now the weather forecast is set to be warm for the rest of the week - we have therefore made the decision to rough off Shade and Oaka as their owner, who is somewhat elderly, doesn't want them to race on watered ground, - thankfully the watering system on most courses is a lot better than it used to be, I also think we are due to have a very wet spring - Hopefully they will be coming back to us early next year and we will have more time to do the ground work with them. They have been great to train and will make lovely horses later on. Charlie Poste is coming in tomorrow morning to school Harry and ride Doris - we will then make the decision as to whether or not to run them at Hereford on Thursday. Jake is in really good form and will be running on Sunday at the Pytchley point to point. I am trying to get rid of my winter flab and went for a run up the gallop this evening - goodness me - I just don't know how the horses manage to gallop up there three times, and carrying people on their backs - it is seriously steep. I very nearly had a cardiac arrest. It was worth it though as the view at the top is absolutely stunning - the wild deer had come out of the woods and were playing in the nearby field and the buzzards were soaring overhead. Very special.
