Goodwood House

Doug's sister, Kate, and brother in law, Rob are in London at the moment (staying in the Dorchester) and they have very kindly invited us there for lunch. We are then going on to 'Glorious' Goodwood for the racing and staying on for the Regency Ball. Rob has very kindly booked us in at Goodwood House for the night, but we wont be turning in too early as two horses will be racing around a candlelit course at midnight , echoing a historic race which took place in 1801. It is the first time I have been to Goodwood (and the Dorchester!!) and it looks like a stunning track.
However, we have then got a very early start as Mum is getting buried the following day at 11 am in the Greenhaven Woodland burial ground. She wanted a natural burial without a headstone but with a tree planted in her memory. She will then be having a more formal Thanksgiving service on the 11th August. Dad seems to be taking it really well, but I just wonder how he will be when he hasn't got so much organising to do. He loves to come and see the horses so we will have to promote him to chief head lad and get him a fork and a wheelbarrow with his name on.....only joking, Dad!
