We didn't get quite as much rain as we would have liked and the grass is rapidly disappearing - more rain expected tomorrow so we'e not going to panic yet as all the horses are looking really well.
We have got Australian visitors staying with us at the moment - Donald, who used to work for Doug on one of his farm's twenty six years ago, and Archie, Donald's 12 year old son. Donald is married to an English girl who comes form the Scilly Isles and they are over to see her family. She has stayed with her parents and Donald and Archie are 'on tour' for a week.  Donald tragically lost his other son, eleven year old Angus in a quad biking accident two years ago. Very sad, but they both seem to be bearing up really well and are lovely people. . The three of them went to the JCB factory yesterday for a private tour and came back sporting yellow and black caps and full of the finer points of how to build a JCB tractor right from a lump of steel. Shame I missed out on that one...
