HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!  On New Years Eve we always go to Lou Bates's for supper and as usual it was a lovely event and great to welcome 2014 in with some very close friends. Needless to say it wasn't a very early night and once again we were somewhat lacking in Zzzzz's, but we were thoroughly spoiled this morning and had help with Lucy and Annette taking over the morning stables and turning out the horses so that we could whizz off to Cheltenham. Torrential rain didn't spoil our enjoyment of the action and a few horses caught my eye, in particular Mendip Express and Annie Power.
Yesterday we gave all the horses a really good piece of work, including Jess and Ponty who were far too fresh for horses that had (allegedly in the case of Jess) raced at the week-end.
The ground is absolutely saturated now so thank goodness the uphill gallop is back in action.
