Doctor K fizzing and popping this morning - You really wouldn't believe that he has had a race - He galloped round and round the field kicking and bucking and then proceeded to roll in the big water hole that he has made in the field. Lovely to see an old boy like that coming out of his races so well. I only wish we had got him as a youngster instead of a nine year old maiden, I think he would have been a serious horse then.
It was a beautiful day today and rather nice to have a day off and catch up with a few things - We did the stables first thing after turning all the horses out then I also 'mucked out' the shepherd hut as we have got B & B guests staying for two nights. I then caught up with my rather neglected garden and then had a couple of hours free to watch some rugby and horse racing - bliss! The Midlands Grand National was an interesting one with David Pipe winning again, but more interestingly for us was seeing Alpha Victor, the outsider in the race at 33/1 coming a very good second. Alpha Victor is half brother to View the Dance and it is now obvious why she loves stayers tracks. It will be Whitfield, Mollington or Guilsborough for her next time out, depending on the ground.
Ireland is playing France now and although England would win the six nations if France wins I would love to see Ireland win as what a fantastic way for Brian Driscoll to retire. What a player!
We have an early start tomorrow as off to Marks Tey with Ben (Whither Goest Thou), Varkala and Definite Dawn.
