Roses still here (19th Nov)
It is hard to believe that we are only two weeks away from December and yet the roses are still blooming in my garden. It was a beautiful day today and we are making the most of it before winter sets in properly.
The roses over our door this morninbg
All horses went really well today. We schooled Goody, Scruffy, Ponty and Whisper and the rest went up the hill. Cloud's owners Libby and Sarah came in to see her work and she didn't disappoint. She is quite extraordinary up the hill in that she is no bigger than a bunny rabbit and yet she runs the legs off all the other horses. She absolutely refuses to be beaten and has no idea how tiny she is in comparison.
We had a contribution to the drop pot today in that Tik, who is getting a little big for her boots, dropped Will in the menage. We have been treating her with kid gloves in that she has just been going for gentle hacking but I think it is time she joined the older horses and started working with them as she is clearly getting impatient and wants to do more. After she dropped Will he jumped her over the tyres a few times and she absolutely loved it, so that could be the key.
Jay is here for supper this evening. She is going to St Anton during the ski season to be a chef again as she loved the job so much last year and is excited about going to a more lively resort. She was sorry to leave Claude's Kitchen but wasn't sad to leave London or the high prices and after serving her months notice has got a couple of weeks off.  I had better go and fulfil my housewifely duties and see what I can burn!
