The weather has suddenly changed and there was a frost this morning. It was actually rather nice as the sun came out and it felt nicely fresh and 'bracing'  - just how it should be for this time of year and definitely preferable to miserable and wet.
The horses are working out of their skins at the moment. We have changed to Saracens food and whether that has got something to with it I don't know but I am fairly sure we have never had them so good at this stage before. We took one lot up the hill yesterday and another lot today and couldn't believe how well they flew up considering it was their first time. The Saracens rep, Clare, came out to see us this morning and watched one lot work around the big grass field. It was Tic's first canter and we were absolutely delighted with her. She loves her work and has taken everything we have thrown at her and just wants more. Clare bought some Saracen coats for all the staff much to everyone's delight.

We are having a staff night out on Saturday as Doug is playing in a band.....Yes you heard correctly - He is taking part in a Bicester hunt 'singing' competition. There are eight acts and Doug with three other reprobates is doing a Status Quo song. He has been going to regular practice sessions and the last one was recorded on his phone which he played back for us all to watch. Oh dear...... The fact that Lucy has now called them 'Status Woe' might give you a clue how bad they are. Doug is very good at a lot of things but singing definitely isn't one of them!
Anyway it should be a good night out and a very good fund raiser for the hunt.
