Harry ran a cracking race and came a very good third out of sixteen. The whole day's racing was ridiculously competitive with Paul Nichols owned horses winning two races and Whaley Cohen (with Pete on board) winning the restricted. It was rather like running the horse under rules, all very professional but very little atmosphere and no picnics or socialising afterwards - apart from us of course... It was a beautiful crisp sunny day and the ground was on the faster side of good. We were absolutely delighted with Harry as he jumped beautifully and was very workmanlike. We were a bit worried that he would remember his accident from when he ran last January when he got struck into by a horse from behind and put his hind leg in the open ditch, completely stripping the skin and flesh off down to the bone. It took him months to come right and he hasn't raced over fences since. The below video is him schooling over the new fences on Wednesday with Rock and Murphy following. The second video shows Rock (this side) and Murphy schooling on their own. They were much more settled and didn't seem to mind the open ditch, even though apparently they rarely have open ditches in Ireland.  The fire has been lit and I am looking forward to an evening in with a glass of red. Happy days!
