Phew, back in the lorry safe and sound. She was a different mare to last season when she got so upset in the paddock that she smacked Doug in the face with her head throwing and gave him a bloody nose. This  time she walked around calmly and went down to the start really sweetly. There was twelve in her race and Peter dropped her in at the back but after four fences she was lying in sixth place and travelling really well when five fences from home a horse fell in front of her - our hearts were in our mouths as it looked as though she was going to be brought down, but it must have distracted her as she very nearly fell and came to a grinding halt. Amazingly she then ran on again and was in fifth position when Pete very sensibly pulled up just before the last fence. We were absolutely delighted with her attitude, the way she travelled, and in particular the fact that she seemed to love it. All being well it looks as though we will make a racehorse of her yet!
She was so well behaved and huge credit goes to the girls who did a brilliant job of keeping her happy and content.
