Beautiful day today and nice to catch up on various things around the yard. Joe Docker came in to school Popaway this morning and although very keen she schooled exceptionally well.
We would have liked to have gone to Cheltenham today but just couldn't get away so we hunkered up by the fire and watched it on TV. Great racing and particularly lovely to see Many Clouds win the BetBright Cup chase for Oliver Sherwood. He hasn't had a win at Cheltenham for fifteen years and was understandably over the moon. He seems a really nice man and it's lovely when smaller trainers get a good winner as they appreciate it so much more than the big yards. He now has a real live chance of winning the gold cup which will be terribly exciting for them. It was also touching to see Chris Gordon win the last race with Lightentertainment and how emotional he was about the loss of his old favourite King Edmund last week at Ascot. The highs and lows of racing.....
Murphy, Cloud and Popaway are all washed and looking very smart for tomorrow. Fingers crossed they and their jockeys all come home safely.
