Not the best day at the office but very pleased to report that everyone is ok. Cloud was very keen and stood off the cross fence and hit it, throwing Will out of the saddle. She then ran on riderless and galloped past Doug who was standing further up the track, she suddenly seemed to recognised his voice and did a sharp U turn and ran straight to him where he was able to lead her back to the safety of the lorry.
By the time we got to Murphy's race the weather had seriously deteriorated and the rain was lashing down. He was up against an ex under rules horse who was rated 97 and he set a cracking pace. Murphy kept on making mistakes which we were surprised about as he is normally such an accurate jumper. We were later to find that he had lost a shoe at the first fence. We couldn't quite see but apparently he then fell at the open ditch second time around.  The commentator frightened us by saying that he had been pulled up suddenly and that he had "gone wrong" which normally means the worse so we were delighted to see both horse and jockey were fine, if a little muddy. Thank goodness. On our way back now for the three hour journey, and the lorry is being buffeted by the lashing rain and strong winds.
Very  relieved that both horses and jockeys will be around to fight another day. Phew.
