On our way home after a trip to Garthorpe where we took We Never Give Up (Jess) and Val D'Auberge. Jess went with the pace really well and jumped beautifully but hated the soft patches and lost her place second time around when Toby very sensibly pulled up. Jess never wins until April on the firm so we just need to get some weight off her first as she does rather look like she should be pulling a cannon, bless her, Val D'Auberge started off well but lost his place at the open ditch and then struggled to get back to the field and also pulled up. It was really hot competition in both races and we were pleased to have them both back safe and sound. It was a great days racing though with Tom Messenger and Faye having a winner as well as Kelly Morgan. Lovely hardworking people and much deserved .
Popaway has been coughing a lot since her run at Leicester so we are going to put her on a course of antibiotics which could explain her lack lustre race.
