Billy's supporter's and proud Mum!
Another great day at the races with Billy, who is due to go to Sandhurst on Wednesday having his last point to point rides. He rode Definite Dawn in the Novice Riders. We were very nervous about running this horse as only a year ago he fractured his leg at High Easter and this was his first run back. He led most of the way before Billy very sensibly pulled him up one fence from home as he was getting a bit tired lacking the racecourse fitness that all the other horses had. Billy then rode his own horse Endofdiscussion (who won best turned out) and came fourth even though at one stage he get into a bit of a collision with another horse and had both legs on one side of the saddle.....How on earth he managed not to fall off I shall never know. His last race was View the Dance who was the rank outsider but he managed to get her home in fifth place, which was a darn good effort. For someone who barely knew what a steeple chase fence looked like only four months ago he has been a complete natural. Well done Billy and good luck at Sandhurst. We will really miss you.
