The ground was too fast for all them really but we ran Harry in the members as Christopher, the owner, was keen to see him run. He came second to the very good Star of Massini. Harry is just too big and gangly to go on fast ground but ran very well considering. It would have been perfect ground for Jess, but unfortunately the wrong way around and she hadn't had enough time since her last run.
Huge crowds and the organisers had the big screen up to see the Grand National. Fantastic for Oliver Sherwood with his horse Many Clouds. Very exciting and a great race.
It is 8.30 pm and we are on our way back now with another forty miles to go. It has been a long and stressful day as we were very worried about running Harry on firm ground. We hope that we have got away with it.
