An absolute legend sadly had to be put down today due to an injury sustained in the field. Sixteen grade one races including five times winning the King George, he was a truly fantastic horse.
I must say I wasn't completely comfortable with Clive Smith's decision to send him to a dressage yard and think that as not many horses actually enjoy dressage he deserved better. In my opinion he should have stayed at Ditcheat to enjoy his retirement but it is all irrelevant now. Poor chap. I just hope he didn't suffer too much and I know they would have done everything possible to save him.
