Both horses back safe and sound after our little trip to Dorset. We only ran Cloud. She was in a 16 runner maiden and only two finished. She was as game as ever and was the last one to pull up, lying third at the time, but she was left on her own and made a mistake over the third fence from home so Nick very sensibly pulled her up as he didn't want her to fall. She won best turned out so well done to Holly for her fourth BTO prize so early in the season. Because the ground was so gluey and hardly any horses were finishing we decided not to run Popaway, which we are sure was a sensible decision as only three horses out of 12 finished and one of those was completely tailed off and finished exhausted. They said that it was the worse ground they have had for years as it had been so wet but was drying out quickly making it very sticky.
However, we loved the course and the area. It was a beautiful drive down through the New Forest and everyone was so friendly. It would definitely be a track we would like to return to when the ground is more suitable. Added to that little Tattie (Spud's half sister) had her first visit to a point to  point which she thoroughly enjoyed.
