Sunday 4 December 2016

We went hunting yesterday, I was on Dancer and Doug was on Rock, who is sadly going to the sales tomorrow. It was only his second time out and he was an absolute saint. there was a lot of standing about and apart from one little mishap over two fences close together, where we had a 'sausage rolling off the barbeque' replay, he was brilliant.. Consequently the master offered to buy him (didn't offer enough) .Fingers crossed he will go to a good home as he is such a lovely horse.
We have just got back from the Bicester Christmas lunch which was a fantastic event. Everyone was asked to bring a certain contribution. It was roast beef with all the trimmings followed by a huge variety of puddings and cheese and biscuits. I had to do the roast potatoes, carrots and peas, so this morning, in between doing twenty horses we were busy chopping and basting, as one does, but it was all worth it and the meal  and company were fabulous.
