Arghh! I feel as though I am running about like a headless chicken at the moment - The bookings for the shepherd huts are coming in thick and fast as are different guests arriving at all times of the day and night. I have only double booked one couple so far this season and managed to accommodate them elsewhere but it is all a bit fraught.
Just finished doing the picnic for today's racing at Guilsborough - We are taking Popaway, Glory Hunter and Capt Len. We will see how the ground holds up and may not run them all. Yesterday at Mollington Fred Hutsby did a brilliant job with the ground at Mollington - It was perfect ground and all horses came back safely. We were a but worried about Nelson as he had been kicked on his knee earlier on in the week and although he was sound on it we think he felt it in the race and didn't let himself down. Added to that he got a bad start and hated being out the back so Tom pulled him up two from home. Jess ran her best race so far this season - She only really goes on firm ground and it was almost too soft for her but she was leading the pack, did her normal dropping out trick but then finished well and came fourth. Babbiloora who is still learning the trade did a lovely clear round and finished like a train. She was in a field of fourteen and up against much older horses. She showed huge potential and will be a lovely horse for the future.
It is a beautiful day and I always really enjoy the Pytchley point to point as it is my old stamping ground. Off to get changed....
