Oh my word, I still can't quite believe it - Popaway won by twelve lengths!
She was awesome - possibly the best she has ever been. She absolutely loved the ground and jumped like a bunny. The runner up, Teeton Power gave a great account of herself, but Popaway just accelerated up the hill, which is quite extraordinary bearing in mind we didn't think she could quite stay three miles. The other odd thing is that she spat her tongue strap out at the start and Immy didn't know whether to tell the starter, as she may have had to be withdrawn, so she kept quiet and then Popaway romped home so easily, and clearly never really needed the tongue strap in the first place!
She is very well today and extremely pleased with herself. We are so lucky to have had the privilege of having such a wonderful mare in our yard.
