We had another fabulous day at Cheltenham - The Gold Cup was fabulous but the absolute highlight was to see Ben Case (who trains on the same estate as us) win the Johnny Henderson Chase with the 12 year Croco Bay - It was totally unexpected and reduced us all to tears to see how much it meant to this small yard, Ben and Sarah and the owner, Lady Jane Grosvenor. We had seen Ben a few times on the gallops leading up to Cheltenham and he wasn't even sure he was going as he thought he would be balloted out. The old horse ran an absolute cracker and led from start to finish jumping like a bunny. Croco has had a serious of niggles and hadn't run since July so it was a fabulous training feat. It is so wonderful to see how much happiness a brave courageous horse can bring when he runs his heart out and wins against all odds - 66-1 to be precise!!
