The lovely Jess 'We Never Give Up' before her eventful race at Mollington
Well, Lucy gave Jess a fantastic spin in the very competitive Ladies race. It was SO exciting as we expected Jess to be tailed off out the back but instead both her and Lucy were really up for it and were gaining on the leaders in fourth place. Jess was absolutely steaming ahead when they tipped up after the last fence. I haven't seen the video yet but it looked as though she slipped after landing. Such a shame but thankfully, although Lucy has a sore shoulder and Jess has a cut on her heel they will live to fight another day. It was a great days racing though, finished off with a lovely meal at the Plough at Boddington.
Pauline has been race riding her own horses in point to points for 15 years and is now training with Doug. Pauline has recently got her trainers permit. They are both passionate about National Hunt racing and achieving maximum potential from their horses in the best possible way. This is why ‘Equine Fitness’ is a very exciting new business for them.
In 2006 Doug eventually plucked up the courage (it only took 7 years!) to propose to Pauline whilst they were on holiday in the Maldives and they married in the Lake District in June 2007.
