Whisper won, Moonie 2nd and Jess 2nd!! A fantastic days racing - We were a bit concerned about the ground as it had rained quite heavily overnight and it was softer than the girls would have liked, but as it turned out they loved it and performed with credit.
Jess was the first to go, a very competitive race with 12 runners, she was 20-1 and ran an absolute cracker, just being beaten by a couple of lengths. She jumped brilliantly as usual and showed a huge amount of acceleration when Toby let her go. The race was only two seconds slower than the Mens Open, so very impressive.
Whisper and Cloudy Moon were in the same race with 13 runners - Toby was on Whisper and Peter was on Moonie. Whisper was really strong during the race and Toby did well to keep her from going to the front until two from home when she effortlessly moved into the lead and beat Cloudy Moon by about 10 lengths. A first and second in the same race!! We were absolutely delighted with the three of them and they were all turned out sound and happy this morning. What a result!
It is going to be a big day today with Jake (Doctor Kingsley) having his first run after his Cheltenham win. It could be one race too many for him as it has been a very long season, but he is extremely well in himself and the ground was perfect when we walked it yesterday. Laverty is also running in the restricted and should run a big race.
Better start getting ready...nerves are beginning to kick in.
