After a HUGE amount of deliberation and a lot of phoning around, we have decided not to run anything at Cottenham after hearing that they have had two inches of rain and it is the softest it has been for years.  It could well dry out a little before tomorrow but it is unlikely to dry out enough, and Exclusive Rights loves to jump off a good surface and struggles when the ground is soft before a fence and Budge Tik and Jess all need good ground, so we will make a few entries for Larkhill and hope for the best.
I have just got back from meeting up with my sister, Rose. We went to watch the 'murmerations' of the starlings at Otmoor. It was as incredible as ever, hundreds of thousands of starlings coming in from every direction and performing the most amazing dance before sinking into the reed bed for the night whilst turning the golden reeds black and filling the air with their excited chatter. Lovely to watch and good for the soul....
