Dove enjoying the race

Frog and Dove went out together this morning. They were as silly as wheels and very fresh. We went around the round gallop, rather quickly, in my case as I was on Dove, and Frog did well to keep in touch. Frog was impressive on the gallop but a lunatic on the way home again - We have decided that she should be entered in the Doncaster sales with a good reserve as she is probably too much for me to take out on my own and really needs to go Summer racing which we don't do as we are busy doing other things. If she doesn't make the reserve then we will keep her for pointing and then under rules. The other issue that has put me off keeping her a bit is the fact that we can't change her name, I was told by Weatherby's before I bought her that as she hadn't been raced I could change her name to anything I liked - She was named as a foal in France and it is 'Quand Je Reve De Toi', which in English means 'When I dream of you' which is rather nice but an unpronounceable mouthful in French, we have now been told that if I wanted to change it the name has got to begin with a Q... ! for heaven's sake, apparently the French like to keep to a certain letter every year and Q is the letter for 2004. The French stud book will also want 600 euros for the privilege of changing it-so we will see if we get any interest and if not will just have to improve our French pronunciation.
We took Dream to see Roy yesterday and he couldn't do anything for her. He thinks she must have a hairline fracture for her to be intermittently lame and just needs time. She was kicked by Dove about two months ago and although she wasn't lame afterwards that could have been when it happened and it just shows itself after really fast work. She is going to have a long holiday out at grass.
We still don't know if Dove is running at the weekend as it hasn't rained yet and although there is some expected tomorrow morning it may not be enough as the track is very firm at the moment.
