Lucy on Jake.
Another dump of snow during the night made riding conditions perfect. We did the same as before and took two lots of three. Lucy got stuck on the way here and had to be picked up in the truck and Ben is snowed in at Paul Webbers and was happy for Jake to be ridden out. With each lot we did over six miles trotting in the deep snow. They all worked really well and once again enjoyed the experience. The gallops here are still completely frozen and unworkable so we are very lucky to be able to use this lovely 50 acre field - and thank you to Bill Adams (the owner of the field) for allowing us to use it.
We have been really busy today getting ready for our skiing expedition - off tomorrow first thing, weather allowing, as quite a few airports have been forced to close. Jay and Lucy are 'Chief in command' and I'm sure they will be fine, although you can't help but worry as there are so many different things that could go wrong - for instance, Spider had a touch of colic this morning and just needed to be lead around, and after a few wind releasing explosions she was fine, but had she not have been noticed things could have been very different - and Dream decided to jump out of her field yesterday and gallop up to the yard and back to the field - for no apparent reason - she is the clumsiest horse on four legs, how she managed not to fall over in the snow and ice is any one's guess, it is also totally out of character. I will be worrying about her, needless to say....
