Glastonbury's 40th anniversary

Well - we did it!! I have got to admit that I wasn't really looking forward to it at all, as I'm not good with crowds and loud music so with 250,000 people staying on campus, Glastonbury seemed like the obvious thing to avoid - HOWEVER, it was a real eye opener and I'm so pleased we went. I was so impressed with the crowd management and also the way everyone behaved - there was a really lovely atmosphere, no drunks, a mix of happy peaceful people who all wanted the same thing, to listen to music and enjoy. there were whole families, even OAP's, totally different to what I expected.
It didn't rain which is unusual for Glastonbury, but it was really hot - the medical staff had to attend to 2000 people with heat stroke. The camping side of things went well as Hamish had reserved us a 'quiet' spot away from the madding crowd - we also had access to a good shower and flushing toilets - real luxury. it was almost 24/7 though - the music went on all night long with a small gap between 5 am and 11 am where there was a bit of quiet.
There was so much to see that even if you're not a real music lover there was still plenty to do.
Needless to say we were somewhat jaded today but rather pleased to be home......
